Write clear website copy

Useful website copy helps someone understand whether your offer fits and which concrete step they can take next.

The short answer

Start with what you offer, who it serves and the situation it addresses. Then explain how you work, what is included, what is excluded and how someone can contact you. Use real examples and confirmed facts. Write a useful explanation first; refine the tone and wording once the substance is clear.

Record your facts and boundaries

Gather your offer, working area, process, contact information and available project details in one document. Mark prices and timescales as confirmed or undecided. An open question can remain in a draft, but it needs an answer before publication or the relevant claim must be removed.

Separate your own information from the sample copy in a template. A statement about years of experience, customer numbers or a credential can remain only when you can support it.

Answer the first question immediately

The opening sentence should explain what someone can find here. “Building tomorrow together” may work as a brand line, but it does not describe a service. Add a concrete explanation that helps visitors recognise their situation or understand whether the service is relevant to their needs.

Then move from the central point towards detail. Begin a section with its main message, explain how it works and add an example when useful. Avoid several paragraphs that restate the same benefit. If a sentence adds nothing to understanding, choosing or taking the next step, you can usually remove it.

Make explanations verifiable

Describe a project through its situation, your contribution and the choices made. An honest account of a small project can explain more than broad claims without context. Do not use customer names or photographs without permission, and do not attribute an outcome to your work without a sound basis.

Be precise about conditions and exclusions. A price starting “from” an amount needs an explanation of what it includes; a “quick response” needs an arrangement you can actually meet. When details remain undecided, invite a discussion of the specific request without suggesting certainty that you cannot yet provide.

Write a clear next step

Tell visitors what they can do and which information would help. “Email your question and include the project location” is more useful than a detached “Discover more”. Make button wording match the destination: an email link is not an automatically booked appointment, even if it appears beneath a calendar image.

Flova does not automatically add a booking integration, shop or contact form backend. Match the copy to the route you have actually arranged and check what happens after a click. Promises about confirmation messages or response times belong on the page only when that handling has genuinely been agreed.

  • The offer and audience appear early.
  • Every paragraph adds information.
  • Experience, prices and examples are confirmed.
  • Conditions and boundaries are understandable.
  • The action describes its actual destination.
  • Contact details and links have been checked.

Review substance before polishing style

Read the text aloud as a new visitor. Can you understand the service without specialist knowledge? Then ask someone outside the business to summarise the offer and next step.

Manual changes are free in Flova. A successful saved AI command costs one credit. When requesting a rewrite, specify exactly what should change and which facts are fixed. Check every language, including buttons and menus. The Dutch editor and support for 24 website languages do not replace your final content review.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI write all my website copy?

It can propose a first draft and revise existing material. You must check facts, permissions, conditions and final wording. Keep missing information visible rather than asking it to invent the answer.

How long should a service page be?

Long enough to answer the relevant visitor questions. Include a clear central point, practical explanation and next step. Do not add paragraphs solely to reach a word count.
