Plan your website building costs

A useful budget distinguishes your own work, design, technical services and any recurring agreement.

By FlovaUpdated

The short answer

A total price means little without a defined scope. First record the pages and languages you need, who supplies the content and which functions must actually work. Then separate initial work, usage costs and optional management. Compare proposals only when they include the same tasks, responsibilities and handover.

Describe the actual deliverables

“A five-page website” leaves many questions unanswered. Is copy written or merely inserted? Are photographs ready? Does each language require separate material? Is a working form included? Put these questions beside the page list so an attractive price does not conceal an unclear assignment.

Also decide who approves the work and how many feedback rounds you plan. Gathering images and checking text takes time even when you use a builder yourself. Estimate that preparation in hours if you cannot yet attach a financial amount to your own contribution.

Create a simple cost sheet

Divide the estimate into readable categories. For each line, identify the responsible person, whether it is initial or recurring, and whether the amount is confirmed. Leave an unknown cost as “to investigate” instead of assuming it will be zero to make the budget balance.

A domain, hosting and an external booking service are separate from page design. Ask who controls access and billing for each. A button linking to a service does not prove that the service is configured, paid for or tested for the people visiting your website.

Understand the pilot terms

Manual changes are free in Flova. There are 108 included designs and six separate Signature designs, making 114 in total. A Signature design licence applies per website. Checkout currently operates in test mode; displayed payment steps do not establish an activated real purchase service.

A successful saved AI command costs one credit. A failed command returns its reservation. Up to three trial credits are available within usage limits. The number of commands depends on your approach: a clear brief and direct manual corrections can help you avoid unnecessary repeated generation while preparing the final version.

Treat management as a separate agreement

The proposed managed service is €500 setup plus €49 per month, excluding VAT. It needs a separately agreed scope covering at most five pages and one language. Choosing a template or opening the editor does not automatically start a subscription to that proposed service.

Before agreeing, specify the tasks, response times, content changes and technical services included. Ask how extra pages, a second language and cancellation would be handled. The word “management” alone does not explain who owns a domain or how you request changes after the first version is delivered.

  • Pages, languages and functions are named.
  • Initial and recurring costs are separate.
  • Your own preparation time is visible.
  • VAT and external services are clarified.
  • Test payments are not counted as real purchases.

Compare the same assumptions

Give two options the same list of required pages, content and functions. Add what you must do yourself and which access you receive at handover. A lower amount can suit you when you undertake more work, provided that responsibility is explicit and realistic for your available time.

Keep the agreed scope together with the final delivery checklist. At completion, compare the contact routes, copy and export against that agreement. Add new wishes as deliberate extensions, so the original budget is not silently expected to cover an assignment that keeps growing after every review.

Frequently asked questions

Does a free design mean a website costs nothing?

Not necessarily. Preparing and checking content takes time, while a domain or particular functionality may require separate services. Include those items in your budget.

Does the managed proposal start automatically?

No. Those amounts require a separately agreed scope and do not represent an automatically activated subscription.

Flova is a pilot. Flova pilot links are not indexable. A production domain requires a separate agreement; checkout currently uses test payments.
